The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same!

Holt Veterinary Clinic has undergone a change in ownership, which is effective January 1st of 2010.   However, you will see no new faces, nor will you experience any noticeable changes in the day-to-day operations of the clinic – the same old-fashioned customer service, the same progressive care.

Dr. David Baxter bought the clinic from the founder and original owner, Dr. J.N. Holt, in 1982.   Dr. Baxter has now sold the practice to Dr. Geoff Bratton, who will be only the third owner in the clinic's 64 year history.

Dr. Bratton has been an associate veterinarian at Holt Veterinary Clinic since June 2003.  His history with Dr. Baxter, however, goes back almost 17 years.  In the summer of 1993, Dr. Baxter hired Dr. Bratton, then a sophomore in high school, to be a summer kennel assistant.  Dr. Bratton's employment with the clinic continued over summers and holiday breaks throughout high school and college.  His veterinary externship during his 4th year of veterinary school was also completed at Holt.  Dr. Baxter raised, apprenticed and mentored Dr. Bratton into the career of veterinary medicine and knows he has found someone that will continue the care and service that the clients of Holt Veterinary Clinic expect.

Dr. Baxter will not be riding off into the sunset just yet!   He will continue at the clinic in his normal role as veterinarian, but with more time and flexibility to enjoy outside pursuits.  He will be scaling back on his duties, but will continue to see patients.  This year, 2010, Dr. Baxter will have been a practicing veterinarian at Holt for 35 years!

As always, Dr. Parker and Dr. Caldwell are also part of the Holt staff.   Dr. Caldwell will continue to work part time in the clinic and part time at home trying to keep up with her 15 month old daughter!  Dr. Parker also will continue to work full time with the rest of the Holt staff.  All of us at the Holt Veterinary Clinic hope to make our 65th year as enjoyable for our clients as the previous years!
